To the fullest extent, 2024
Ricardo Vilas Freire & Polina Shklovskaya
To the fullest extent (2024), a transparent object is inflated by collective effort. Air is delivered rhythmically, expanding the balloon and the space around it, filling the Faculty of Education and expanding the understanding of limits. Participants produce different sounds, vocalizing the breathing process and the work being done, establishing nonverbal communication. At the end of the performance, the plastic sheet transforms into its own organism, generating waves and moving of its own pace, trapping the group with increasing pressure, making them victims of their own work.
Performed by Ricardo Vilas Freire, Polina Shklovskaya, Paulo Nazareth, Thalita Amorim, Fernado Costaa, Marcel Diogo, Vitor Alves, and Yan Nicolas at the Faculty of Education of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil) during the project PEDAGOGY - Paulo Nazareth Artistic Occupation.
